"Dude, she knows The Simpsons..."

Yes, friends, school is back in session, which means that I'm back to telling awkward, obnoxious, and comical teenager stories.


On the first day, I was explaining some of my policies to my 9th graders, and we were talking about writing papers. The following conversation followed...

9th grader: "Do you ever assign writing as a punishment."
Me: No, why would I ever want you to think about writing as a punishment."
Annoying 9th grader: "Uhh duh haven't you ever heard of The Simpsons?"
Me: "Do I look like Mrs. Krabappel?"
Annoying 9th grader: "Dude...she knows The Simpsons. Weird."
